This banjo gets is sound from a traditional mylar banjo head stretched over a 1/2" x 1 1/4" steel tone ring.  The tone ring is welded, not bolted to the resonator flange which is integrated into the all steel sound pot.  The solid construction eliminates the rattle often found in metal or bolted instruments.

 

The instrument is equipped with a blue tooth speaker integrated into the body. This may be used to amplify the instrument during jam sessions, add rhythm or accompaniment for a solo player, or simply to listen to pre-recorded music or lessons during practice.
